You can do the same with a little swivel on your bait, the swivel will allow the line to untwist while out. I don't run a swivel when I troll, just to get line straight.
Thanks Cowboy. I single pole cast-n-retrieve, vertical, and flip. I use loop knots. No swivels for me with small jigs...call me old and old school
