Where did you put in at? Also, how deep were they?
I need to get down that way one of these days.
Just can't get anyone to go.

Jiggah we put in at Cedar bluff and the fish in that area are suspended about 5ft to 7ft deep In the creeks and river ledges and come up in the evening as water temps rises to 2-3ft.

I think he is trying to tell you the fish are in the river channel which will be deep water. The fish just upend up in the water column according to where the bait is. As water temp rises bait gets closer to surface and so do the crappie. You can find big bait balls easing along the edges of the channel while watching your electronics. If your on Weiss just look for a bunch of boats.
Hey guys! Good to see yall had a good day. Hope to see ya soon.
