    that I've received, are :

good catches one day ... nada the next

It's all weather related. But, if you're fishing out of JR's, you're in good company ... just talk with the gang, there, and they'll point you in the right direction. Best possible scenario that you could hope for, would be to be there when the longline trolling method is hot up in Little River. Come out of JR's and bare to the right, heading towards the big rock point across the lake, and look for a floatilla of boats :p .... that's what they'll all be doing - dragging jigs around/along the Little River channel (if they're still migrating).

This is what you will be looking for :

Picture is of half a dozen boats longline trolling -- looking towards Big Oak Campgrounds. A hour or two prior to this picture, there were more like 25-30 boats in this area (but, I was too busy fishing to care about picture taking ... LOL!!)

If they've moved in shallow again ... be prepared to troll 1/32oz jigs in shallow water, or FnF cast to shallow flats (3-5ft water).
Here's the most recent report from www.jrsmarina.com :
    Date: 2/26/2007
    Level: 562
    Normal Level: 565
    Surface Temperature: 51
    Clarity: Stained
Crappie fishing is "Good". Troll shallow flats with 1/32 oz jigs Black & Chartreuse or Bubble Gum.
(but, check it several times before you head there ... just to get more updated info)

If the lake has come up a few more feet, by the time you get there, then there's also the possibility of getting in on some dock shooting.

Have a great trip, take some pics, and report back on how you did ........ luck2ya ... cp

Glad to here they like the Southern Pro Hot Grubs. I love 'em myself. Great colors and action. Trouble is, they don't sell them around here anywhere, so I have to order from the internet. I like the acid rain, bad blood, and john deer. What are the productive ones on Weiss, if ya don't mind sharing?

Speckwick, You can get all of your favorite colors from BJ at the Weiss Mart Marina in Cedar Bluff. They are the only marina on the lake that carries Southern Pro, and they have most of the colors in stock. I was in the store on Sunday, and he was sold out of a lot of the colors but said he had them ordered. The colors you listed work really well here as well as Blue Shiner, Black/Blue/Chartreuse, Black/Red/Chartreuse, Blue/Chartreuse, Double Trouble and Popsicle. If you do not have some of these you should be able to pick them up when you get here. I hope this helps you out...See Ya on the Water!

    Default Weiss in late March

The fishing is hot NOW AND SHOULD BE FOR TWO TO 3 WEEKS... Talk to folks at Weiss mart Marina or Jr's Marina - both in Cedar Bluff, Al. Either place will point you in the right direction. However, at this time of year, just hunt the boats, and join in.....
Take a Kid fishing, keep only enough to eat, and release the rest to spawn again. Pop
