    Default Weiss. Leesburg

First time back at the house installing led spot lights so my granddaughter could see at night when she gets in from college , then blowing leaves. About 3:00 pm and I noticed surface activity in our little cove. Water way down! Y'all know I never come to the lake unprepared ? I had stuck my 8' float n fly rod and reel in the back of the truck. I grabbed it and headed to the edge of the lake made a few casts with a tiny cork I internally weighted and a 1/50 th Popeye jig I tied that morning . I noticed a brush pile exposed just out of casting distance. Got close finally and my cork disappeared? Keeper 11" made a few more couldn't reach again got close and cork went under again! Bigger than the first! Caught one more keeper then a short and had to go. What a feeling. My cork was 18" under cork.

Very nice! Congrats on an opportunity that presented itself. Something to be said for being ready.

A year ago I had some time off from work, went to mud creek to fish and wind was blowing 22 mph couldn't put boat in fished off dock with a float n fly combo and wore the fish out off shallow brush average 12" fish very few shorts! This was the first time I had ever witnessed crappie schooling and busting shad on top! Any brush or stick up with 3-4' of water had fish on it it was crazy!
