Went back up into Chippewa today and chiseled up a few.Water was still a little high and rose all morning with the incoming tide so I think that was not good for the bite. Had a dozen W perch that measured and half dozen nice bull bream. Perch caught half on minners other on jigs. Quite a few short fish. Brim on crickets. Perch were in deepest part of the lake. 10 to 11 ft. close to the bottom. Friend of mine had 70 brim in there Saturday. That's it for me for a few days, boat going into the shop tomorrow.

Looks like you had a great morning, congrats. Hate it when the boat has to go in for anything. I've got a few things I want done too, but I just can't bring myself to put the boat in the shop. Lol

What size boat do you have to have to get in the lake?
The smaller the better but when the water gets below 3.5 ft at Barry and you go in on a falling tide you may have to spend the night. When the water is 4 to 5 ft I've seen some 20' glass boats go in but it's tough on the big rigs like that. You will have to drag across a log or two and maybe push pole a little.

OK I got a 1650 aluminum Triton. Been wanting to try it out. Where do you get the water level for Barry?
Yeah it's my one year service and I wanted to get er done before the warranty runs out in June in case they find something that might be an issue. I was hoping to beat the summer rush but I'm too late, looking at two weeks. From now on I'll do it myself or take it in January or February

No I don't. I've looked on google
There is only one way in and that's through the woods. Your best bet is find the mouth of bayou machet, go to the head and turn left into josea's creb, that's what I think it says on the map, we call it joes crib. Go to the head of joes crib and get there pretty early and wait for another boat to come in and follow them through the woods. Bayou machete is just southeast of Barry Steam plant on the Mobile River. There was 9 boats in a line going in Monday morning between 7:30 and 8 Monday morning.
