You should be able to find some fish this week!
Just got back Sunday, had a great time. Didn't catch my limit each day, but I'll settle for 20-25 (1.5-2.0 lb.) crappie each day. Couldn't stay out in big water very long, due to the 18 mph wind so I had to go to smaller places out of the wind. My fishing partner caught one that weighed 3.4 lbs. All in all a great 4 day trip.
You guys did better than most of the local folks around here. Congrats on a great trip. What technique were you using?
Only thing we could get them to hit was the 1/8 oz gig. Anything bigger and they wouldn't touch it.
If the Crappie fishing stays slow for you ,you might want to try for Shell cracker and blue gills as they females are busting with eggs right now and should be on bed by the weekend if this 80 degree temps hold like they say . Look for grass beds and cast in and around them and docks using crickets/ worms or keystone minnow/squirrel tail jigs
Thanks Snapperking, but I'm back in Kentucky. We did catch a few big gills and Shell Crackers. Wanted to fish islands, but the wind drove us crazy so we had to find other places. First time on the lake, but want be my last. Beautiful lake.
