Tried Goose pond at daylight 1 crappie on a minnow also tried jigs no luck.Took a look at 79 bridge water up high and muddy 2 guys were wadding under 79 they had a crappie each. Then I got a wild hair took a drive to try the Stevenson backwater. When I drove up to see 10 cars ,it's now 8; 30 a.m Took a look see 3 -five gallons buckets of slabs.I tried the other side of the causeway and managed 15 nice crappie,10 nice white hybrid stripes 1 to 2 pound range. The catfish were active also caught 7 cats 2 to 6lb range.Anything chartreuse was the ticket also pink worked great.3 to 8 feet deep was the bite range. Not much current just enough to be good and the water was cloudy and high.

Sounds like with high, warm water the Crappie think it's time to spawn. Great report and thanks for sharing. I'm glad someone is catching them.

Awesome report. I was wondering who was gonna get back to business as usual and where . My guess was Ditch and a parking lot at either a walmart or a kroger. Yall be slow out there till the trash clears and we get our our landmarks back.

I was surprised to see so many boats out. Goose pond had is many is 20 trucks in the parking lot when I was leaving. Ditch the area I was fishing is one of my favorite night spots ,have caught daylight crappie there but night works great. Would be great place for a YAK real shallow.
