Ran over to Neely Henry around 9am when the rain stopped and fished for about an hour. Figured I would give it a try while the barometric pressure is still low before this cold front moves in. Caught 6 nice crappie and a 3lb spot, shooting jigs on a deep dock 18-24ft. It was a really good bite considering all the current. Most all of the bites were coming on the retrieve rather than the typical bite I get while the jig is falling, so they were very aggressive today. Also even though it was deep water the bites were at about 8-10ft. (I was shooting the jig and counting down then a slow retrieve)Wish I could have stayed but I had to be off the water by 10am. Water temp was 57. Caught all fish on a 1/32 orange round jig head and Bobby Garland Monkey Milk minnow with the tail spiked chartreuse. As aggressive as they seemed to be, color probably wouldn't have mattered, its just what I had tied on when I got there. All fish were nice fat 13"+ black crappie, didn't keep any, knew I didn't have time to clean them. I did snap a picture of one of the bigger 15" fish.
