Due to upcoming surgery 12/3 I got out for the last time for a while over the weekend, I fish private lakes in Pike County near Banks AL
I got on the lake at 6am and went to the overflow pipe by the damn where I've caught them before but I didn't get a bite so I went hunting them. I found them on the other side of the lake on about a 100yd flat along the bank that's 5' deep with a lot of cut off stumps. I fished minnows and was also throwing a 1/8 ounce Road Runner with a black and chartreuse joker on it. I ended up catching 21 and all were 11-15" and the only 4 I caught on minnows were the smallest. The water temp was 59° and calm winds, when the wind kicked up from the East at 9am the fish quit and so did I. When I filet them I notice that they were on the feed building up some fat for the winter and also some had small egg sacks I guess for spring.
I had a great day and look forward to getting back after them towards the end of Jan.
