    Default North Alabama Spawn

A week of stable weather and the full moon on the 4th. If the spawn is going to happen this should be the peak.

I think you are correct. The fish that have not spawned should do so in the next few days. I think the fish do this every year and we just don't realize it. Each year I have cleaned fish this time of year that still have eggs in them. I am ready for them to start moving back to deeper water where I can usually get on them better. Looking forward to better fishing ahead. Hope everyone will keep posting about their fishing trips and share the results with us all. Be safe out there.

Not only will the crappie be at it, but the bream should kick in as well.

We fished around one of the bridges yesterday and caught 10 keepers. Most were post spawn. Strange part was that we got there around 8:30 and caught all 10 in about 15 minutes and they shut off. Six feet deep over 18 ft water.

We caught a few bluegills in 4-5 feet. They were not bunched up.

Caught 27 today on wheeler in 20 fow, none had spawned out. One may have been spawning she was missing a lot of eggs. The water temp this morning was down to 64 on the surface by the late afternoon it was almost 70. Should be happening over the next few days if at all some of the smaller females had bright yellow eggs still. The larger Females had tan looking eggs with blood lines in them still. I posted a report over at my FB Page https://www.facebook.com/northalabamacrappiereports
