I'll be heading to Guntersville for the first time towards the end of March. I'm looking for a nice camp ground that is close to good fishing. Any recommendations? Is it easy for a newbie to the lake to get on the fish? Also, what is they best way to fish the lake during that time, and when does the spawn typically occur? I'm used to fishing the ocean like depths on Smith Lake, so I have no idea how to fish a lake like Guntersville.
We camp in Riverview campground (lower end of lake at mouth of Browns Creek). End of March should be pretty good timing. Easy to get on fish, not exactly but with a little searching you should be able to. Longline trolling works well for us. Spawning could be going on at that time, weather dependent. Hit me up when it gets closer and I will help as much as I can.
