I will second or third the getting there early advice. It gets crowded quick

I use to catch just as many on the same piling on the scottsboro side, however for the last several years it has not been productive. Sometimes they will be almost everywhere under that bridge and sometimes one or two spots will be the only ones holding fish. You will catch tons and nobody else will be catching them.

the scottsboro side on the bank was doing the best. i couldnt see the other bank so it might have been hot too.

crappie are everywhere under that bridge, but many folks refuse to change tactics to suit the fish around them. Ive watched a boat set up in my favorite spot and not catch anything for hours and as soon as they moved, I slid into the hole and maxed out. the depth changes sometimes hour to hour, but I cant count the times that Ive heard others say "I never fish more than 6 ft deep", or something to that effect. fish could be anywhere from 2-20 ft and a change in current may make them change depth. There is a guy that fishes there a lot who will tie his boat so that if the current switches direction, he can just untie the rear and pivot his boat to face it. His name is Johnny and watching him will teach you a lot. He gets his limit and puts on a show regardless of which piling he fishes.....

Would that be the guy in the deep sided aluminum Tracker boat?

no that is Gary Jones who usually scores well to. The guy Im talking about has an older white/grey or silver bass boat and launches from the gravel ramp with a Toyota pickup. His routine is to look for an open piling without regard to which one unless there are more than one open. he usually gets there mid morning and immediately starts to catch fish.
