    Default FLINT CREEK

Had another report from this Saturday. The rain didn't do much damage, the creek was still in perty good shape, little stained. I don't have much to report but managed to catch 10 with 3 keepers, the biggest was 14 inches. Talked to 3 people they said it was slooow, but should pick up. The fish were released. Looks like a lot of rain in the forcast.

Well it was definetly windy but that's 1good thing about fishing in the creek. Wind doesn't affect you much so I guess it was operator error lol.

What kind of boat do you fish Flint with? I have a 17' Basstracker I would like to attempt to take some time even it meant just running the trolling motor and running the motor trimmed up at forward idle.

You can actually run the Flint if you're careful and give the tree tops plenty of room. Lot of folks on the bank at certain areas so give them some space and watch your wake. I have only gone down stream from that launch not up.

I fish in a 17 ft. fiberglass triton with a 115hp motor. Needless to say I take it easy but that's me. Your basstracker will work out perfect.

I fish Flint a lot, to run in there just pay attention to the buoys as they mark the channel, stay between them and you should be ok,fishing should pick up pretty soon try fishing around Hickory hills boat landing and fish up toward Hwy 67 also try the flats in front of Point Mallard crappie will soon be moving on them.Hope this helps

If you put in at hickory hills launch and go back toward the river just stay between the marker bouts. If you head toward 67 though there is no bouys so be careful. Were I have been fishing is the actual creek, and been putting in off hwy 31 between hartselle and Decatur.

Been reading and hearing Flint is a good place to fish. I don't live far from it. Seems like a perfect place to fish for a guy like me who has a little boat. Hope i can find the hwy 31 boat ramp. Anybody have any luck fishing in the creek at Arrowhead landing?
