    Default Neely Henry 9/20

Went and shot docks on Saturday from 7-12:30. Managed to catch about 35 with only a few of those being under 9"...but I only keep 10" or bigger. Wound up with 12 keepers that were solid 10"-12" fish. Water temps were 78-80 degrees, caught all fish between 2'-5' FOW. Using 1/16 chartreuse and fluroscent red jigheads....jig color didn't seem to matter. Could not buy a bite on any of my normal deeper water piers....had me puzzled. It is only gonna get better in the next few weeks, then they are gonna drop the water 4'.......do you guys think that will mess them up when they drop the water then bring it back up a few weeks later?

Great job, congratulations on a fun day out. Are you on the upper end of the lake or lower end? I mostly fish the Big G, but should spend some time on Neely sounds like a neat lake. I love to shoot docks.

I fish mostly around the mid lake portion. I love to shoot docks more than anything......it is addicting. Fish Town Creek on the G in the spring, but that is mainly the only time. Really want to come up there and shoot some docks and see if I can catch some of those slabs like we do in the spring!

When they drop the water I think the fishing will be terrible. After they let it bottom out they may bite after a few days and then when they start to raise it they will quit biting again until the water stabilizes again. This is just my opinion from past experience of fishing rising and falling water. Please keep posting and let us know how you are doing on Neely Henry.

The draw down is supposed to start on Oct. 3 rd. and start back up on Oct. 17 th. They are supposed to lower it 4 feet. You should be alright for your trip in November.
