Thread: Saturday Kayak Plans

Ditch have you ever tried the skinny water over behind the old Saginaw Plant off Hwy 31 north side of the river. I have seen some nice bass that have come out of there. Turn off 31 beside Thompson Cat and then first left there is a rough launch on the right....not sure if this water is suitable for spider rigging or would be single pole jigging. I have wanted to give it a try but have not gotten around to it due to working way too much. There is also a lot of skinny water over in the Swan Creek Management Area.

Lots of Bass and big gills in there, but the moss gets to thick to do much good for the Crappie this time of year. I keep meaning to try it late winter/early spring when the vegetation is dead but haven't gotten around to it. I've pulled several limits from Swan Creek Management area the last few years, good area but fish are very scattered.

I'm hoping to find some new areas since this weekend will be a little cooler.
