Any dove hunters on the board?
I was hoping someone could tell me some good public land areas for dove around north Alabama. I really don't know of any places aside from the north side of the river on the Wheeler Refuge.

There is a huge area S of the river that the Brewer Lions Club does an annual hunt on/around the Priceville area on opening day. They usually have about 20+ fields that you can float around to, and it's like a $10 donation to hunt. Pretty good shoot if your on the right field. I have an old flyer with contact info #'s: 778-8089, 778-7632, 796-5477, 778-8576, 778-7298, 778-8434, 586-3342, 778-9404.
Let us know what you find out.

Hey Bob, Brewer lions no longer host a dove shoot and have`nt had one for two years. They have broke up the lions club at Brewer at least thats what several people have told me that were in the lions club.Scout you might try the Somerville fire department they had a hunt last year but I have not heard of one this year but their hunts are to raise money for the fire dept. Also you might try the Swan creek recreation area turn right in front of Calhoun college on hwy 31 and follow the road to a dirt road in a curve,go straight on dirt road and look for a small shack that will have free permits in it but if you hunt there keep your head down.
Hope this helps.

Appreciate it guys. If I find any hunts, I'll pass them along here.
