Just so you know, I also cranked around the first island north and west of the Dam. Never a hit there either. Only way we could buy a bite was single poling and they were all bass. You can't tell me cranking won't work there. I think I would go to light colors. The only problem with Lake martin is that is so clear. I bet the fish can see the bottom of the boat at 20ft deep. I know we could see bass holding on structure way deep.Quote:

Do yall have a thermocline over there, they may just be flat out deep?!!! Might have to weight em down to get to them. When we were over there several years ago I was surprised how clear it was, may be a factor for sure.
I had a pearl on the other day for four hrs and never got a hit on it. The solid black and black and chrome belly were the hot colors.
Try some hot pink and pink silver sparkle
May have to try out some planer boards.
What diff would planer boards make?
