    Default Smith 5-30

Bite was slower, as expected, the early AM feeding frenzy is really all that worth being there for now. The catch seemed to be smaller fish this go around also. I think I'm about to hang it up until fall. Fished 11 hours, 25 craps and 1 big flathead. It's tough to keep the fish fresh fishing that long in warm water. The meat was a little mushy by the time i cleaned them that morn. I'd LOVE some bream fishing locations if anyone wants to swap secret spots. I do not have any electronics in my boat. No depth finder, no trolling motor.
I'm thinking of trying the cricket on bottom trick at Catoma this coming weekend. PM me if you know somewhere for big bream on Wheeler.

    Good luck to all.

I've learned in the summer that Crappie I'm keeping go straight into a cooler on ice.

    Good looking mess of fish!

Great flathead. I love catchin them and eating them. Good crappie too, i'm impressed that you had such a haul out there with no electronics.

Good looking mess of fish. I would recommend exactly what DB said. Instead to throwing fish in a live well with water in it throw ice in there and put on ice. Another thing I have done with good success, is freeze a couple Gatorade bottles of water and throw those in the live well and do not circulate the water, keeps them cold and meat firm.
