Well went out today despite the wind and it was "total crappie destruction"! Was long lining and speed didn't seem to be a factor since I was at the mercy of the wind. Had to stop several times to pull my line out of the motor and got blown all over the place, but had a limit by noon. Was fighting the wind so much my battery went dead so the last 5 crappie I just let the wind blow me around.

Best bite was early on, had 15 in first 90 minutes then wind got to howling and really had to work for them. Found two areas where the big boys were stacked up on a point. Biggest fish was 2.2lbs and best 7 weighed 11.4lbs.

Water temp is back down a little to 55 degrees. Still catching them in 10 to 15 feet of water with a few in the 20 foot range. Keep expecting them to move shallower, but they are still staying deeper. I guess we need one more warm spell.

normally i am at .8 when it's cold. Maybe down to .6 if real cold. I like to go as slow as I can in real cold conditions you just have to adjust how far back your jigs are if you go to slow. water is 55 here so you can go up to 1.2 or so now.

Good job hanging in there...it can be frustrating fighting the wind.
