Okay, I can't believe this. Check it out. I've had the same poor results as a few of you have said, so I've decided the next time out, I'm going to take it easy for part of my trip and just do it the way my dad and I used to fish for crappie by drifting around with a couple poles with crappie rigs on them. Some of you may remember the old two hook rigs you use minnows with that has the weight on the bottom of it. Well, I've found 4 old ones in one of my tackle boxes and went a few places looking for a couple more, just in case it gets good. Hahahaha the guy at Gander Mountain looked at me like I was from another planet when I described what a crappie rig was and how we used to fish them. Surely, some of you remember the old crappie rigs?

I can tell you that works great! My dad and granddad caught coolers full of crappie that way. I always had to set in the middle set and I was limit to 1 pole because they would use 2 to 3 and crappie would tend to tangle our lines. I would help them real in crappie when they had more then 1 r 2 crappie on it the same time. I mess them both the good ol days thanks for the memories..

Hey Larry you must have been rich to afford those crappie rigs like that. my dad and his brother would just let the wind blow them all over south sauty with just 2 hooks on leaders tied to the line with a nut tied on the bottom. I was maybe 10 then and tried showing them the crappie rigs but they would have no part to do with them. those sure were fun filled days. miss them more every year!!!!

Larry David. Wally world madison boulevard has those rigs. The one they sell are marketed by capps and coleman.
    Expensive though.
Grizzly Jigs sell them individually or by the dozen.
Call and ask for Josh, tell him Zero sent you. that way he will charge you more, likely.

Thanks Alabamaal, sounds a lot like the boat I was in. Some of the best memories of my father as well. Davey your dad and brother were probably better at those old blood knots than most surgeons. That's pretty doggone impressive. Thanks for the info Zero, the crackhead Wally on Drake didn't have them. I haven't heard of that brand. I did find some made by Eagle Claw for just $1.10 each. They look very well made, the actual leader line is smaller diameter, too, and so is the hook line. I'm likin' that. But I may go ahead and tell that dude Zero sent me just to see how much he inflates the price

Thanks for all of your repleys. So I guess I'm not as bad a fisherman as I throught last week. I was throwing Jigs in the shallow water at brush piles and in the deeper water 17-19 ft we was long lining Jigs. The water was about 54 deg. and I was not marking many fish or bait, I was fishing up in a major creek at G'ville. So we try another time.
