When I put my rigs together, I bought all BPS Crappie Maxx spinning reels based on the price and to keep everything uniform. I use them for spider rigging and trolling. They come with two spools so I put 10lb Viscious FL Yellow on one to spider rig and put 6lb Viscious FL Yellow to long line and can swap out in a minute according to what the fish want. They work fine for the little bit of reeling you would do spider rigging and have handled long lining both jigs and cranks. To answer an earlier question you posted, I don't think the 14' B-N-M PST's would be too much for a 14 boat. Just my two pennies.

When i troll or spider-rig i really like using a baitcaster reel. I guess for me and several of my fishing partners its easier to let more line out with a klick of the button. I spool them with either 6 or 8 pound test h-vis yeller

I like the Pfluger Cetina Underspin Reels. They have an adjustable drag that stays very consistent on pressure . I have some that's I've used weekly for three years and that still work like new.

Greene, I think they would be fine. For the Gville crappie I would go with a 6# line.

I don't spider rig but do use them and love them. I believe they just came out with a new black/silver version.
