Thread: not bad until the wind showed up

Went to Logan Martin again long lining. Caught 19 between 0630 and 1030 had to stop because had to meet the wife in the afternoon, but was getting to windy anyway. Started out catching them in 12 to 15 feet of water around shad on 1/16 white head and black and chartreuse body. Bite slowed about 0830 and the fish were scattered about in anywhere from 8 to 18 feet of water. Eventually was fishing with 1/32 oz orange head and black/blue body and chartreuse tail. Normally always start out 1/16 jig and black and chartreuse then change up a little at a time. Usually fish with 6 rods and have one or two I play with until i catch something consistent on them, then start changing the rest. Kind of do that all day as well as change my speed and distance I throw the jigs out. Somehow I eventually find what they want. Just gotta be patient. Water temp was 46 also missed a lot today. Would Grab the rod, feel the fish and it would let go. Dont know why.Attached is pic of bbq crappie do this so i can eat more crappie. cant eat fried crappie all the time. cook them up nice and crispy taste pretty good. I put a brick under the tray to keep them farther from the flame.

I agree would rather long line than anything else. Makes for a relaxing and fun day of fishing.
