    Default Alum welding

Ran over a metal post the other week and resulted in a gouge about six inches long
on the bottom of boat but did not go thru the hull. Need some one to lay a bead in the gouge so I want have a weak spot in the hull. Any suggestion on who could do this would be appreciated.

Don't know what you got around there but I'd check with your local big truck repair shops and find out if the have a Tanker trailer repair shop around close. Those guys have to be able to weld aluminum tanks that have to pass pressure tests so the usually the best around.

I used C&J Welding to make a sliding aluminum transducer bracket to mount on my motor for the Triton. They did a good job for me. I looked them up on the internet. They had one great rating and one bad rating. I can only vouch for the work they did for me. You will have to decide.

Another option is to contact Taylor Edge @ Tennessee Valley Marine in Madison. They build the search and rescue (rescue one) aluminum boats that are delivered around the country. I know they do some repairs, but not sure about welding. I like TVM much. Just bought my new Mercury 30hp 4-stroke from them.
