    Default Leemon Slough, Lake Wheeler

I'm going to give a new Slough a try in the morning. I'll be fishing from 6:00 AM till 11 or 12. Anyone with a canoe, kayak or flatbottom boat, It would be great to see you on the water!

I fished Leemon Slough this morning, caught 50 or so Crappie. No photo’s, catch and release fishing since my freezer is full. Crappie were scattered, never got into numbers. Most were 10 inches but no slabs. Chartreuse Bobby Garland on 1/16oz jig heads. Channel catfish were hitting everything again. Released several up to 5 pounds.

Leemon is a very large slough, over 50 acres with extensive water in the three to four foot range. I even found a seep or spring that was underwater. The water at the seep was a couple feet deeper, maybe 6 feet. This is going to be a great slough to place some bamboo in.
