Thread: Weiss 3/20/10

You did better than we did. We only had 3 keepers at Weiss. We decided to go to Neely at lunch time since it is on the way home and only got ! keeper there. The wind really pickep up in the afternoon. It gets old catching small fish after small fish.

Yup! Just baby fish on Neely!.. no need to even try!

A buddy of mine took 2 of his kinfolk out on Logan today and caught 54 keepers in 4' of water!... all the big fish have jumped the Weiss and Neely dams and are swimming around in Logan!!!:D

I know where they are on Logan, but I'd be bludgeoned, stabbed, and shot to death if I told... sorry!:rolleyes:

Fished Chainsaw,waterhouse and trotters.
Caught enough for dinner this one my son caught about 3PM in trotters,right before we called it a day.This one was a hair under 2 lbs
Temp was about 54.
We caught most in chainsaw,maybe 20 but it was a mix of whitebass and 9 inch crappie. A few times we had 3 rods going at the same time. Was good to see my son with two rods in his hands while I had one
The bite was fast for a bit.
Good day on the water at least.

Looks like a full 2 pounds.

I don't think the big fish have moved into the coves in numbers yet. All we were doing today is educating the young fish on what not to bite when they get big.

I hope the bite picks up in the next couple of weeks. I chose to come to Weiss for my first fishing trip in 7 months. Health issues shut me down hard. Four of us are leaving after church on the fourth of April and staying three nights at Weiss Lake Lodge. We don't know where to start but we will maybe find some help on an area. Either way it will be a good time.

You should do well then Oldwun, the water is warming up nicely and the fish are getting active and hungry. The water will prolly still be muddy but the fish will bite. Use chartreuse and black or firetiger and chartreuse in the muddy water.

All the fish I caught yesterday had no eggs!!
Were they all males or have they dropped their eggs???
Even the big 2 pounder had none
