Default WoooHooo!!! Made It To The Lake Today!!!

I needed a break today so I went Fishing today. Traveled to New places to me, just wished I would have had a boat. Did good, given the wind was blowing, this way, then that way, then another way too...Went to Stockton Lake today. I caught a couple then given 12 more from a very kind person. First place I went to was pretty out of the way. Skinny, rough road to it once you left the hyw. Then even worse when you turned toward the lake down a very narrow rd. Once there it was nice, but was kinda rough casting into the wind from the bank. Left there and went to Raurke boat launch area, where I actually caught a couple, and given the rest. This is where the member that gifted me the 20' pontoon launched from a lot. Very nice launch area with plenty of parking, and very clean. Talked with the fish giver, I think his name was Robert, and he told me of another place on the other arm of Stockton. He said the white perch were running good right now, and the crappie would be good in about a month or so. I went over there to see where it was. Off a side road from bait masters in Aldrich. A really out of the way Place, but with all the guys fishing the area, it must have been really good.
I didn't stay and fish as the temp started dropping and I was dressed for a much warmer day than it actually was. Shorts and T shirts aren't good when it's getting down toward the 50's and the hawk is starting to scream....All in all, it was a very good day.Name: 20260312_181703.jpg

I was Supposed to go replace the tarp support on the pontoon today. But looked at time, thought about how long that was gonna take, it's full of water, and I decided to go fishing. I have to go to the VA clinic tomorrow which is sortta a lot closer to the pontoon, and decided it could be done after my morning appt.'s. I like the out come anyway...
Here's some picks of the lake area of the first stop...Will be a good place to launch my one man blow up pontoon...Name: 20260312_142331.jpg

Those crappie are chunky, really nice gift. I need to find me some like that. My little brother fishes there quite a bit, mostly for those big white bass but catches some nice walleye and crappie as well. Definitely a lake you want to check out more. Nice to see you out there fishing.

Yes Sir, I do. Just wish it was a bit closer. It's a solid 100 mile round trip. Not something I can afford on real regular basis, especially with today's fuel prices.

Maybe should have went and did boat yesterday. I went to my apples this morning, then urgent care to get stitches out of my leg, from a cut back on the second. Then to boat. Tarp support collapsed due to wind, snow and rain. Punched a couple holes in tarp and littarilly filled the boat, inside the tarp. I used a Bilge pump and my 50Ah LiPo4 battery to pump it out. Took 2hours of pumping...but it's done. Brought tarp home to see if Gorila tape on both sides will fix. I plan on using schd40 PVC pipe and fittings to fix the supports.Name: 20260313_095234.jpg

The water in the tarp is almost to top of seats and rear support is sticking through tarp..

Wind was bad today, kept us in limited spots where we found only a couple of crappie. Even with live scope. But we caught a few bass and catfish so it wasn't a bad day out with my grandson.
