lake West Point is approximately half way between me and my fishing buddy , abour an hours drive for us both .
And the shallow water fishing is beginning to get a little better each week .
We both caught sixteen fish each . An assortment of small gills, green sunfish, and mostly spotted bass from ounces up to a couple of pounds.
Four of my catch were bass , a couple small ones (8-10” ) and a couple of ultralight fun size .
All were fun on my Major Craft Finetail glass rods , a 4’10” and a 4’6” . Reels used were a Shimano Soare XR500spg and Daiwa Exceler lt 1000 . Both spooled with Daiwa J braid .
The green sunfish and small gills are starting to show up. If it stays reasonably warm , the numbers and size should increase .
I’m posting my two larger bass , one of my Bud’s , and a green sunfish with one of my rods .
The Major Craft Finetail glass rod is a fun rod .
Used mostly micro jigs , an a few small gills were caught on a Beetlespin with handtied jig.
A beautiful day in the low 70’s .
