    Default Need wiring advice

I am going to run 2 gps units off 1 100ah lithium battery. I imagine the circuit is this: Battery to 6 circuit fuse block and out to 2 separate gps units. The distance from battery to fuse block is only 1 ft. What gauge wire do you think is adequate between the two?

All depends on the current draw you expect. Since you have 6 circuits I would guess you expect at some point to expand beyond the 2 units. You want no more than 3% voltage drop over the run. If my calculations are correct a 10 ga wire will provide this for up to 50 amps.

You want to use a large wire for this jumper, so you can do whatever you want in the future. Now since its only fishfinders and you could pull maybe 10-15A i would say 10awg is enough. But i would personally use 8awg for this, if not 6awg.

If you dont want to use a fuse box you dont have to, i personally like solid bus bars for boat installation. Then i run a fuse on the end of each individual positive wire. Same thing though really, i just dont trust cheap fuse boxes and good ones are very expensive.

If you have room, you can also use the bolt on bus bars for lithium batteries, they screw right into the terminals and allow you to attach multiple items directly to the battery. This is the best way if you have the room in your battery box, and put individual fuses on each wire.

For a run that short I'd use 10 gauge. I like to use fuse panels too. My boat has one under the console and one at the bow. The factory power pigtails connect directly to them.

Thanks guys. This info helps me greatly. The set up is a Blue Sea 6 circuit with integrated solid bus bars, coming off a lithium battery that only runs 1 bow and 1 console unit. My other console unit is a dealer install to an under the console circuit box. I have no desire or reason to add other circuits. I only chose the 6 unit for its sturdiness over a 4 unit. Heck... I only get to fish once a month

Since my water time is so limited I thought that maybe I could contact Elon Musk. Have him build a joystick-controlled satellite. I could point it toward my destination, and it would display
a map where the fish are currently. I could go right to them instead of cruising around looking We have the ability to see where the Taliban is playing cards every Monday night so why not fish. And they say ffs is the greatest technology. I disagree
