Nice. At least it wasn't a skunk for the full outing...Single speeds are no fun when it's time to do the up-hill part...

Or maybe I should say , I used my bike to go fishing today .
I used a Fanny pack as a sling pack to carry a minimum of tackle including a Caron X 500 reel spooled with Daiwa J braid .
The rod I took was my 4’6” Palms Quattro 4 piece ultralight rod. The tube almost for inside the down tube water cage on my converted single speed Specialized Hardrock mountain bike .
I first visited the town pond , but found it over two feet low . They drained it down to work on the dam . It did something to the fish , because I got skunked .
Last fall , I found out about another one on town property, but located in the woods accessible by a trail , off the parking lot for the ball fields . Another 2.5 miles away .
I found the trail and was able to ride my bike down hill almost to the water .
I fished a .8g jig until I got hung up and broke off . The leader broke at the braid knot . I thought I had brought some leader material, but the spools I grabbed didn’t have any line on them .
Since I had to tie directly to the braid , I chose a beetlespin with a chartreuse and black 1/32 handtie jig .
I caught a small bluegill on my third cast .
I ended up catching three Bluegills before the thunder started up and told me it was time to head home if I wanted to stay dry .
It was my first time taking my bike fishing . It was fun , but next time I’m going to drive and hike in .

Totally understand. Back in my younger days, I lived in the high and low deserts in So. Calif. and rode all over on a 16" bike. Stay on the trail and ride fairly easy, most times, but there would be spots that the sand piled up and you came to a stop...Didn't have to many places to deal with roots though...

Very cool. Used to ride my bike everywhere when I was younger. Rode to our farm pond many times to go fishing. Sorta hard with tackle box, pole, etc all in your hands….lol. Good job.
