Confidence catches more fish than any lure

I dock shoot a lot with depths of 12-13 feet on the end, all the way up to 1' near the bank. The 1/32 weight gives me the best fall rate and distance on average, which the fish prefer, so I don't have to adjust jig size or plastic size often. The majority of the crappie I catch under these docks are suspended most of the time, and if I use a heavier jig, it tends to fall to quick thru them, forcing me to reel too fast for them. If I don't reel fast enough, I end up getting tagged by catfish closer to the bottom. I do fish the bigger jigs open water fishing tho. My supplier emailed me and said he was sending me a new batch of jigs at no charge that he thinks will fit my request. Good business right there.

Not to correct you nor do I’m any expert just want to add comment from my experience.
First of all, Jig mold a lot of them made some where overseas where the use metric gram not ounce and oftentimes they don’t calculate hook weight into calculation. Jig I bought here i usually trim bait keeper out to get down the weight and to use my DIY bait keeper.
Secondly jig weight not only thing that effect rate of fall. The shape of plastic like paddle tail, curly tail and straight tail will have different ROF and will react differently at steady retrieve. Line type and size also effect ROF. I cast a lot to bank where start off only a foot depth, I can work the shallow better with super line like Nanofil compare to braid (Nanofil is super light and super buoyancy. When i vertical jigging from dock I prefer braid where line and lure sink faster.

just my .02 might not help you anything just a thought.

Update...supplier sent me a test batch at no charge with a sticky attached saying they used a mold with a wire keeper on the 1st batch. The new mold nailed the weight. He is sending me the rest of what I orginally ordered at no charge
