To substitute for Campbell’s cream of shrimp? Just my luck, about the time I discovered it and started loving crappie bisque, apparently they’ve discontinued it. Started looking around to home-brew a substitute, but thought asking here might speed up the process.

That's a tough one. Next time I'm in the Asian Grocery I will check. I do have a shrimp paste. $4 at the Asian grocery.

Disregard the cake fixings in the background, got birthday coming up.
The last Bisque I made, I was one can short on cream of shrimp, so I threw in a Rotel. Liked it, so

Combined it all, three soup cans of heavy cream, Old Bay, garlic and onion powder, black pepper. Bringing it to a bubble and tasting, threw in a pinch of kosher salt, and it needed a little something more, so a dash of liquid crab boil and a dusting of Cayenne Name: IMG_3757.jpg

It’s not exactly the same as before, but think maybe it’s better. Went back for a third bowl.
