Default 24V Lithium Trolling Motor Batteries

    Good morning, y'all,

I posted this on the electronics forum, but I thought I'd put it here, too:

My current lead acid trolling motor is a little over four years old, and it seems like it's starting to lose power. I'm thinking of going to a 24 volt lithium battery and upgrading my trolling motor. I'd appreciate any insight that anyone can offer on 24 volt lithium trolling motor batteries, along with an onboard charging system...good vs bad points, price, etc., or anything other info. Thank you!

Well I can tell you why I don’t have a single 24 volt, if it stops working no more trolling….I have 3 identical cheap China 100ah 12 volt lithiums 2 in series for 24 volt troller and one for a house battery for electronics. In my mind if one of the 12 volt trollers takes a dump I can move the house battery to its spot. My house battery sits side by side with my group 31 lead acid starting battery I could quickly swap the wires and run the electronics of the starting battery.

I switched to a pair of 12V LiTime 100Ah LiFePo4 batteries because switching to a 24V was also going to require a new charger. I'm still using a Minn Kota MK330D because it can charge my batteries as an AGM and be fine for 1.5 years so far.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.

    Well, I’m running thirty-six v,
But when I switched over I went with Impulse lithium, batteries and charger. They gave me a good discount for being a Crappie.com member, and when I’ve had a question they answered the phone quick and helped me out. Only thing I’ve had to ask was for the password so I could customize my phone app, put names and numbers for each battery, and how to change modes on the charger. Boom, they straightened me right out. I really love being able to look at my phone and see all the info while on the water or home charging. It shows battery temperature, how many amps you’re pulling, and a good estimate of how many hours you have left to run. While charging it shows how many amps battery is taking, and estimated time to full charge.

I went with two 100Ah LiFePo4 12V instead of one 24V .... several reasons, but the main one is 12V lithium chargers are cheap, 24V are not! .... I am a broke tightwad!

This is what me and a few buddies use for our graphs and have been happy. When I make the TM switch I'll give them a shot.

I ended up ordering a 24v/80ah lithium from Amped Outdoors a few days ago because I've had great results with their batteries in the past for my graphs. We'll see how it goes.
