well Sam and I went to Tim’s Ford to try our luck and maybe stay out of the wind. The weather was warm enough for us old guys and the wind was below 10. We let the morning chill warm up some and dropped in about 11 after finding our first choice ramp closed for low water or trees down, both present. Water temp was 44* and we found absolutely zip shallow. What fish we saw on FF were between 10 and 20 feet deep, and not many of those. Tried shallow, tried deep, watched a guy work a bridge post which historicallly always holds some kind of fish. In the hour we were close enough to watch he never bent a rod. Tough conditions. We never got the first bump in the three hours we spent. Fired the outboard and idled toward the ramp and a minute or so later, the motor runs out of fuel and quits, the bulb still hard. Got it fired enough to make the ramp and it stalled again, making the trailer tough. It’s back at the shop that fixed it a few months ago, wish me luck.
I watched a video a bit ago about a rod called the willow switch. It really looked like a willow switch, extremely light and parabolic. Just thought y’all might like to look into it. A 5” gill really put it to work. Not for me but it’s not all about me.
Y’all stay warm and have fun, maybe the fish will thaw out soon……Tim

Yep, best wishes for a quick motor fix. Thanks for the ride along.

It’s good to get out even if the fish don’t cooperate.
Hope you get your outboard sorted out.
We’re getting a somewhat warm rain today. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice . Hopefully I’ll be able to meet up with my fishing bud and we can try our luck around a few boat ramps at the big reservoir. That’s the plan .
I’m thinking up the creeks maybe a little stained and hopefully the water temp warm enough to motivate a couple into hitting our jigs .
Will let y’all know either way.

No the feeling - and frustration - when the motor won't start after multiple repairs. I finally found a good mechanic worth the money; what a relief. Good luck getting it stayed fixed.
Man, that is frustrating. Hope you get that motor sorted out and can get back to chasing the fish.
