Awesome job. Another thing Ketchn likes to say…..KABOOM!![]()
We have been exchanging pictures by text most of the day. One of the crew caught a river White Crappie 1.74 pounds, a stud for a river Crappie. I worked putting the little Mercedes back together then fished a "Un-disclosed Location" for some Hammer Time.
I was catching a spread of Blacks from Potato Chip size like my last post to some good 1-1/2 pound Crappie. The bigger fish really did some running today.
This Black Crappie kept running around and around the boat. Some of Ketchn's words lingering in my head, "something about those who play the fish loose the fish".
I had the net in my hand but this Crappie would not stop swimming in a giant circle. It got the line tight swimming right under the surface in "High Speed Mode", I can't remember ever having one run like this. I just knew it was going to get off but once in the net I could see it was never getting off, hooked solid in the roof of the mouth well back. In fact I had to use needle nose the entire 3 hours I fished.
I kept 25 or so I didn't have my clicker around my neck so it could be more, we all know I can't count, never could.
smiles are contagious, spread them around

I remember getting stopped about 25 years ago fishing with my dad below the Pearl River Spillway in Madison, and when the warden asked how many are in the livewell, my response was, "definitely not the limit." Honestly, there probably weren't but 15 or 20, and I was fishing with my dad, so we would have been ok with 60. His response was, "that's what they all say." After he opened the livewell and looked in for a very short time, he let us go without a comment because he knew that he didn't have to count to know if I was lying or not.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.
