Don't have a float suit yet , as far as insulation goes , companies say light insulation if you hike a lot drill a lot of holes

I'm looking to get my first float suit. Are there any brands or models I should stay away from? Not really sure on insulation rating (80g, 100g, 150g) I would need either. Weather can be anywhere from -50 wind chill to +40. Average probably single digits to 25 degrees. For now I'm just using Carhartts and sitting on a bucket. I'm kinda liking striker and Eskimo but know nothing about comfort and ruggedness.

Will you be mostly out in the elements or do you have a shelter and heater? Are you going out regardless of conditions or more of a fair weather fisherman?
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
For right now I will be in the elements. I probably wouldn't go if it extremely cold like in the negatives all day unless it would warm up some. I know that's pretty vague but where im at I would say single digits to 30 degrees would be fairly common. I know I would need to layer if it's extremely cold out and decide to go anyway. I'm just trying to get an idea of what line up would work best in my situation. Thank you
I really like my Striker Ice gear. I wear it as rain and cold weather gear in early crappie season.
I’ve had artic armor for 18 years. It’s faded completely out from camo to a red oak variety. Lol
when I upgrade it will be with striker I know several guides that use striker. They are rough on it also.
The problem with the sales now is that most all common sizes are sold out.
Scheels is having a sale on ice fishing gear and clothing, might be worth a look. Don't know how long it lasts; just got the notice this morning.
