I find it easier to whack and stack the sides, then clean my mat off and do the ribbing and skins on a clean surface.

Man that looks like a good time. It's nice to see a fellow Iowan! I'm new to ice fishing, what's all this warm weather going to do to the ice even though its below freezing at night? I measured 14" of ice Saturday. I would like to get out a few more times this week.

Soften the top 4-6” and harden again each night. I think next week is supposed to be even warmer which will hurt the shorelines enough to make it hard to access. I am ready for it to melt, itching to get the boat out and use the long rods!
