You got in some fishing and got some nice ones before the cold weather hits. And you didn't have to change lures which is nice in cold weather. No open water here and won't see any for awhile. Maybe next month.

I got. To the pond today around 12:30 with temps in the upper 40’s and east winds 12-24 mph .
I took one combo , a 6’6” St Croix Avid with a Daiwa Exceler/Legalis spooled 1000s with 3# Floroclear. I planned on float fishing the same area I fished yesterday but the east wind wouldn’t let me get close to where I was casting the last two trips .
Walked to the other side of the pond and took off my float after going fishless for 20 minutes and I started twitching.
I couldn’t cast very far, but it was far enough to reach fish in the deeper water on that side .
At first I thought it was going to be a green fish day , but I finally caught three gills and a shellcracker just before I left after just under two hours total .
I started not to go at all today with the wind , but I hoped with fishing the pond , I could find an area where I could fish .
The big storm comes in tonight with lows in the teens all week . Might have some hard water at the pond before the week is done. I’ve seen it freeze before .
Edit : I used my same little mini trout magnet micro jig I’ve been using under a float .

Glad you got out. Too much ice around for me to get too ambitious. Nice fish!
