Glasses of all sorts in our house , most end up broken or lost ….

I’ve been pretty satisfied with the two pairs Shady Rays sunglasses that I’ve been wearing since going back to contact lenses. I lost one pair to the ocean on vacation and used their lost sunglasses policy to order a replacement pair for a small fee, and I haven’t had to replace either pair under warranty. The one in my truck is what I also use when fishing (when I don’t wear my prescription sunglasses instead), while the others are tuned for driving and stays in my wife’s vehicle, which is normally our travel vehicle anyway. I had been a Ray Ban green-gray polarized lens wearer until I stopped wearing contacts for about 5 years and wore progressive lens glasses and prescription sunglasses until I realized that buying prescription snorkeling masks was going to be stupidly expensive.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.slicksbeagles1 LIKED above post

I used to go through several pair of cheap sunglasses every year. In 2001 I splurged and spent $180 on a pair of Ocean Waves even though wife said I was going to break them in a week. When you spend that kind of money you take better care of them. 25 years later they are still in use. Broke one lens and had it replaced, just had to pay shipping costs. Bought Costas as a back up while waiting and have two pair of quality sunglasses now. I'm set for life.
Oakleys do scratch easy. If you're use to caring for glass lenses you have to change your game with plastic, coated lenses. They are so much lighter. No straps around the back of the head like heavier glass lens units. I have a pair of Maui Jims that are 25 years old and still look great. No Bi-focal, no tying a quick fishing knot. I gave up 10 years ago carrying glasses to tie a knot.
I keep two pairs of polarized sunglasses in my boat, one amberish brown and the other is traditional dark lens, both have a 1.5 reader in them. I also keep a pair in the truck, also with readers. When its bright and sunny, it’s like I can feel my eyes relaxing after put on a pair of polarized sun glasses.
