    Default Portable aerated livewell


    Looking for ideas on building a portable livewell out of a cooler with aerator. I see these tournament guys bringing fish into weigh-in with these. Wondering what aeration system they might be using.

    I did that years ago using a cooler on wheels. Just get a small battery powered air pump a short piece of air hose and an air stone. Using a piece of Velcro attach the air pump to the side of the cooler, attach the hose to the pump, drill a small hole near the top of the cooler that will be a snug fit for the hose and run the hose to the bottom of the cooler add the air stone and you're ready to go. It worked for me!!

    Lot of guys use a small bilge pump and make a spray bar with pvc that mounts on inside of cooler. Theres a ton of good diy videos on you tube showing how they do it. Ive been thinking about making one to use this year also.
