I had the same issue, i swapped out my mister twister blades for the bubbas and it does a decent job.

I have the Bubba cordless, it is ok. My buddies Rapala R12 is roughly half again as fast, we traded just to make sure it was not my lack of talent, he wanted his back quickly. But neither is a match for my corded American Angler.

Been waiting about 15 years for AA to come out with a cordless model. They said why mess with perfection. I use my R12 when I’m outside but my AA is unbeatable. Tried the bubba and sold it for $20 less than I paid for it. Total garbage to me. It ripped my fish instead of cutting them.

I did a lot of reading before buying a rechargeable fillet knife and ended up buying the Rapala R12, no regrets. I also have an American Angler 120v fillet knife, it's probably 20 or more years old and still going strong.

Good thread...I'm in the market for something.
When my AA corded fillet knife was dying, I went to the cordless BPS rechargeable fillet knife. It just seems like its running at about 75% of the speed of a corded knife. The blades don't seem to be very sharp either but, I wonder if the speed issue makes them just feel dull. I don't fillet a lot of fish at one time, so I tolerate it.
I prefer a cordless knife if possible, but I was looking to get something different this spring. I was leaning towards the Bubba but, it looks like the Rapala R12 may be a better option.
