With the jigs I received I painted some 1/32 yesterday then tied a dozen up for my trip. Both rods will have one of these tied on to see just how they feel. Stay tuned.![]()

Never tried tungsten jigs before because they are pricey but recently was given some by a company that sells tungsten products because they saw my jigs on Facebook and are looking to put some hand ties on their site. These are what I came up with. Sizes were 1/32 and 1/16. Took the samples to the sport show and they liked them and gave me five more packs for myself. Going to be using some of those this morning, first trip of 2026. Worked out a deal with them that I will tie more jigs for them in exchange for more tungsten jigs.![]()

Awesome!!!
Killer work.
Well it happened yesterday. Got skunked using tungsten jigs. Fished two lakes and didn't get a tap, bump, nothing. Windy but mild temps. First time in many years with a goose egg. And for the topper I broke the tip on my Soare BB pushing my jig off a snag by the dock. Luckily I purchased a couple extra top sections I purchased when I bought my second rod like this and will replace that before I try again today.

Bright side was I got plenty of exercise trying to find some biters. Had over 3 miles walking by the time I made it home that morning.
Great looking jigs Jim, as always. I got out a couple of days ago with almost the same results. I got one smallie (16”) in the boat and lost another at boatside. Couple of gills bumped me jig but no takers. Hope the weather lets you out again soon.

What is tungsten made from? Weight wise, are they smaller or larger than Iead jigs. There is at least one state on the east coast, that requires using tungsten jigs.
