Default 1/2/2026 WE HAVING A CRAPPIE YEAR SO FAR

First trip of 2026 was a overy crappie trip.
Kept 23 Blacks and 1 White all over 10”. Threw back as many tacos.
they wanted a smaller profile and black was the color today. The water temp is hovering right at 60 F and the Blacks seem to be spawning. Their tails are all broken up and they are full of eggs.
Had a blast fishing in 5 to 8 feet along the bank.
We doubled up a few time.
    BON TEMPS!!

Awesome trip! I really admire how you're able to go with your grandson so often. On one of my previous trips about a week and a half ago where I fished around the Bayou Benoit landing in the basin, 7 of the 12 fish I cleaned were full of eggs.
