    Default More ties

These are 1/24 with Mustad Ultra Point hooks in a #6. Can't go wrong with the duck jigs and the wedge tails have been productive as well. Stocked up on the wedge tails with more colors so should have plenty to do on those cold winter days. I like adding a little flash in with the tail since I lost a tail on a bite. Name: IMG_6709.jpg

    Very good looking jigs.
That last bunch are definitely eye catchers.

Jim, how do you get the curl out of the duck feathers?

I've used them a little bit and recall trying to turn the curls toward each other so that they are straighter.

Are your feathers straight off the duck or do you straighten them somehow?

Looking good Jim! The feathers look like gadwall flank feathers rather than mallard feathers? I'm sure they are great for crappie.
The bottom wedge tails look wicked!

I trim my feathers removing the fuzzy portions at the base and store a bunch in a quart size bag. Then I squeeze all the air out and stick it between a couple hard back books and leave it for a couple weeks. Still has a slight curl but that's what I want. Some mallard flanks look darker than others.

Cool tip on the feathers. Like the jigs, maybe the walleye will too?
