    Default Dock Side Shooting

Lot of folks ask me about how I fish docks and a really key thing for me is Side Dock shooting. Only really effective when the sun is overhead and bright but when it does it can be the whole deal. Many times I will walk onto dock and had folks there ahead of me who had caught quite a few or not and said they had totally stopped biting.

but after they would leave and no one else was watching I would get over openings in floats and side shoot into shade. Lots of times they would hit and KABOOM was on.

Same effect as if your on a boat and dock shooting which is very effective. Best crappie dude I know who is a dock or bank guy taught me that after I had known him for a while and he knew I wouldn't broadcast it. Only other guy I've seen do this is another mutual friend of both of us.

Dock shooting is one of my favorite methods. Will be hitting up LOZ soon.

Doc shooting can be an art. Takes a lot of practice.

I'm standing up when I do this Beagle I'm not shooting across the slip but you can do that as well. I just literally stand back of opening and Flick my jig through the opening sideways. Takes a little practice and you should ketch on quickly. I use multiple rods depending on what I have with me. Usually I fish with a BnM Sams super sensitive ultralight 7 footer which you gave me. but I also have a Bnm dock shooter works well as well. Often you can hear it hit the dock underneath so you know how far you are going, tighten line enough to stay in contact as often you get bit on way down and then you can figure out where they are then bring it slowly back at different depths.
