Default Helix 7 Mega s/i transducer issues

I have a humminbird transducer that came with the Helix 7 Mega di/si chirp and it has worked well. Starting earlier this year the brown/black inside stuff began to liquify and drip out. Over the course of the summer it has all leaked out. Funny thing is it seems to be working just fine. Thinking of filling the thing with silicone. Think that would work or cause any issues?

    Curious what other people think

    TIA

Silicon will dampen the signal. An epoxy that hardens would be a better choice.
