Nice.

Here's a quick little reference I cooked up with the help of Gemini. Took maybe 5 minutes with a few iterations of prompt engineering, vs. maybe a 1/2 hour+ of manual search and copying over.
Advertised Line Strength (lb.) Varivas TwitchMaster (mm) Reaction Tackle Mono (mm) Reaction Tackle Ice Mono (mm) P-Line 100% Fluorocarbon (mm) Stren Copolymer (mm) Sunline FC Small Game (mm) Trout SOS (mm) Yo-Zuri Hybrid (mm) 2 0.12 0.117 0.16 4 0.148 0.203 0.16 0.18 0.2 0.157 0.2 0.235 6 0.185 0.234 0.2 0.21 0.22 0.25 0.254 8 0.215 0.261 0.23 0.25 0.27 0.279
These are the non-braid lines I regularly use. For a main line, it's usually the Reaction Tackle Ice Mono or Trout SOS. The rest I use for leader material. The one rig I had spooled up with Varivas Twitchmaster vanished (most likely stolen out of my yak at the boat ramp) before I could get a good feel for its performance.
Just thought I'd share the results of playing around with AI in case others find the information useful.

This is usually more confusing in Bass anglers. Ppl buying line base off advertised lb test that claim one brand better than others and such. And when there are no standard some manufacturers use thicker line in similar lb test compared to others then the advertises of better line abrasions and strength.
I normally buy line base on diameter and characteristics not just lb test for different techniques. If in doubt I’ll base off JDM line which usually more standardized across the board.
I used to measure each line with digital calipers, the most favorite among bass anglers, yo-Zuri hybrid 6lb test has the same diameter with 7-8 lb other copolymer/mono compare to 9-10lb JDM fluorocarbon.

Good stuff, thanks for the time. Answers a lot of my questions about line size. I use mostly braid but have to have a few with mono for different applications.

Yeah, when I spooled up a 1000-size reel with that Yo-Zuri Hybrid 4lb. on a UL rod, I was disappointed. Couldn't throw the ususal 1/64-1/32oz. lures worth a darn. Makes perfect sense, however, given the diameter is closer to some 8lb. lines. Anyways, the same stuff makes for perfect leader material on a ML rod with a 2000-size reel and 12lb. braid as a main line. I'll fish that combo all day for largemouth and walleye.
If I had to boil it down to one choice on the list for general UL use, I'd go with the 4lb. Reaction Tackle Ice Mono. That enough strength to fit a variety of situations, but light enough to throw tiny lures. Can't speak much to durability, however -- should know more with another season of use.
