    Default Wesley's Jig

During a recent tying session my four year old grandson came into my tying room and climbed onto my lap. I asked him if he wanted to make an owiee, my term for jig. He said "SURE" and we got started. With me guiding his little hands we came up with this tie. Took about ten minutes but we got it done. Bunny tail with light blue palmer chenille. I finished with half hitches and after he showed it to "GIGI" I tied it on a rod for next days fishing trip. Caught a crappie on the third cast and caught three more with it in that session. They stocked trout that afternoon when I went and the trout loved it. Caught over 20 trout with it. Next morning hooked a trout on the first cast and it wrapped me around a dock post and broke off. Guess we will need to make more now.Name: IMG_6578.jpg

That's awesome. He had a good teacher and hopefully will continue with tying jigs. It's a pretty jig.

A nice looking jig that catches.

    Way to go.

You might have to buy another vice pretty soon!

We have him today so maybe he'll want to tie a couple more. First tie was productive before I lost it and I could use a couple more "Lucky jigs'.
