We were going to take boat out but winds were gusting to 25 mph so decided to try fishing spillway behind dam. I caught 2 8.5-9 in crappie and a small bluegill, lost 2-3 others. After about 40 minutes we decided to go fish up by little park near the damn, lake is way down had to walk about 20 yds down hill of rip rap to get to waterline. Wind was blowing in our face at a steady 17mps so fishing wasnt easy. I caught 6 white bass about 13-14 in long and a decent crappie, hooked at least 5 more white bass only to have them pull off. Caught on motor oil/chartreuse twister tail on 1/8 oz jig head. My buddy caught 2 white bass about same size. No telling how many hits I had that never felt due to the wind. I believe if we could of got boat out we could of tore the white bass up. There was some guy out in a little 12 ft jon boat in 2 ft white caps fishing straight off the dam ramp, must of been catching something because he was anchored in same spot over a hour. There was one other boat fishing behind the guy in jon boat and somebody in a speed boat running up and down lake. Lake was pretty much deserted other then those guys.
Unless I go to Cataract once in next week or so my boat fishing is probably done till spring, my buddy doesnt like fishing in the cold.
