I read Quinn's post this morning, knowing I was unable to fish today due to some scheduled events. Pretty good day for it, too. Shortly after 10am, got a call cancelling my late morning appointment and since I didn't have to leave the house until 3-3:30, I rushed off to the pond for a short trip. Took my inspiration from Quinn's post to get after 'em. Had lines in the water about 11 under mostly cloudy skies, air temp at 51, wind not too bad. Water temp between 55-56. Fall foliage is hanging on, despite the recent wind and rain.
Didn't take long to get on the board with a nice perch, the first of many. They'd get better as the day went along.
I found better schools in the deeper water, with lots of big 'gills and some hard fighting crappies.
Even landed a double hookup but missed on a couple of other doubles.
The good bite lasted until about 1 and I called it quits at 1:30 with 28 on the clicker. Pretty even split between the 3 species I'd get today; perch crappie, bluegill. I was glad I went, even though it was a relatively short trip. All were returned since I had afternoon plans and wouldn't be able to process them before leaving.
I've got hopes of going tomorrow morning with a cooler to bring some home.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

An excellent trip and great pictures to boot! I’ll have to try and be better about taking pics.
