Things to be done, so let’s get after it. The boss called me a while back and requested my company for a visit to the Mayor’s house for a visit. My schedule being flexible, I was in. Slab showed up early Wednesday and north we went. About 5 hours each way but it was in good company so the time just fell away. Good weather and overall good traffic made for a pretty easy trip of it. We found Billbob in good spirits and full of smiles. A very good visit was had for me with a chance to meet the wife and some of the family. It seemed like about every half hour while we sere there another car pulled in with friends or family to stop by and visit a while, as it should be. Dogs frequently reflect their owners demeanor and this one was no different. Billbob has a golden retriever/standard poodle mix that only got the color from the poodle. He had to come visit every few minutes while we were there just to get a rub on the head, a great dog much like his owner. Too soon we had to make tracks or make plans to spend the night somewhere. Off we went south to find traffic even lighter than on the trip up. A quick stop at Buccee’s for a sammich and fuel and in good time we pulled back in to my house and a chair that didn’t shake and vibrate. So good to see you and spend time with friends Boss, maybe we do this again sometime. Maybe with some fishing rods involved next time. When he left this morning the air was heavy with dew and I couldn’t do much on the boat til things warmed up and dried off some. I had sanded and taped the interior before I left and I just had to scuff and wipe and paint. That went smooth and I had to leave it alone while the paint cured and hardened. Hard for me to do anytime and today was no different. After my Queen’s appointment I connected to it and pulled it out into the sun, what little we got today, in hopes of the heat and breeze might help the process. Ended up installing new submersible tail lights like is used on tractor /trailers. Great product I found online was a steel box folded out of some pretty stout metal that’s welded inside but leaving enough of a gap that any water that finds a way in won’t stay long. I shot a couple of coats of clear inside and out just because. Had a dead short somewhere on the right side so a new 14 ga harness was pulled through the frame rails like it was before. This was the best setup for tail lights I've ever put on one of my trailers, tough, clean looking and no stray wires. I like em. It’s looking like a real boat and not an interupted project. Even my Queen spoke of how it has come along. I can’t wire until the console is in and that cant happen til the carpet is in so there’s still some for me to do. Then comes the motor. I’ve heard dit run but it needs an impeller and one or two other things and then it’s off to the doc for whatever it takes tp make it dependable. Getting it done just in time for the temps to cool some and fishing to be done while everyone is in the woods. Suits me. Til next time……

Well credit for the pictures too. It takes time to take them and time to upload them but it allows time for the rest of us to enjoy them. Great Post!

Here’s a pic of the tail lights I used. Lighted marker light too. For the money to have submersible lights that have served me well when driving truck, these are tough to beat. All steel box that I satin clear coated before install.

And the rubber gasket makes for a quick change when it does burn out years down the road...
Used to drag container boxes out of the ports in Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Newport News, Virginia and had a good supply of them sealed up lights. Mostly the round ones, Large and small. Never new in the ports if another driver had gotten yours instead of going through the Maintenace line for a quick fix....

Sounds like a couple of places I’ve worked out of. I call it shopping in someone else’s truck.
These lights come with a vinyl gasket which is fine by me. I'll pick up some good ones when I find em and they don’t want to retire off of me.
